    Write the outcome

    In your class, open the Learning Outcomes tab and create a new one, or import one you already saved. Describe what the class should learn in plain language.

    Choose the type

    Mark it as a teacher goal, school curriculum, or national curriculum, so the AI understands whether it is your intention or an official requirement.

    Scope it to a subject

    Assign the outcome to one subject in the class, or to all subjects for something class-wide like a group working agreement. Records and context stay scoped to the right subject.

    Activate it

    Flip the outcome active. You can keep one active outcome of each type per subject, so a class can carry your goal, the school programme, and the national framework at the same time without them competing.

Why doing it once is the whole point

Alignment is not a one-off task. A class moves through units, and what it needs shifts with it. Because outcomes are saved and reusable, keeping them current is a small habit rather than a rebuild: update the active outcome when the unit changes, and everything downstream follows.

It also respects how you actually teach across classes. When you have a subject selected, the AI pulls only that subject's outcomes, never your other subjects, so a Biology test does not get shaped by your English goals. Common questions about Learning Outcomes

Do I have to add the outcome to every generation myself?
No. Once an outcome is active for a class and subject, the assessment generator, lesson planner, test grader, and activity notes include it automatically. There is nothing to select each time.
What is the difference between a teacher goal and a curriculum outcome?
A teacher goal is what you personally want the class to achieve. School curriculum and national curriculum are the official frameworks you are accountable for. Keeping them as separate types lets the AI treat your intention and the official requirement as distinct, and you can have one active outcome of each type per subject.
Can I reuse an outcome across several classes?
Yes. Outcomes are saved in your library, so you can import the same one into another class instead of writing it again. Removing an outcome from a class keeps it saved for reuse later.
What happens if I deactivate an outcome?
It stays in your library but is no longer sent to the AI. Deactivating is how you take something out of play without deleting it, which is useful when a class finishes a unit.
Will the AI only follow the outcomes and ignore my instructions?
Outcomes are context, not a cage. They tell the AI what the class is working toward, but you still write the prompt, review the output, and edit anything before you use it. The final decision stays with you.
