Teaching materials

Teaching materials is your workspace for storing lesson resources and editable documents. Go to /teacher/teaching-materials.

The current live workflow supports Document materials. Image and Presentation cards are visible in the app as coming-soon material types.

Folders

Use folders to organize materials by class, unit, subject, or week. You can:

  • Create folders
  • Open nested folders
  • Rename folders
  • Delete folders
  • Move between folders with the breadcrumb trail

Materials

Click Document to open the editor. Document materials can be saved in a folder and reopened later for editing.

Importing and Exporting

The document editor can work with editable content and supports export workflows through the built-in editor/downloader. Use this for handouts, lesson notes, parent communication, or content you want to reuse.

Sharing Materials With Groups

Teaching materials connect with Groups through shared-material workflows. Use sharing carefully so students and families only see materials intended for them.

Organization Teachers

Organization teachers can create their own teaching materials. Materials shared to organization groups depend on the permissions and group access configured by the organization admin.

A simple structure that works well:

  • One top-level folder per subject or class
  • Unit folders inside each subject
  • Separate documents for lesson notes, handouts, rubrics, and extension tasks
  • Shared folders only for materials students or families actually need
