Managing Classes

Create and manage organization classes from the Classes page (/org/classes). Classes use the same editor as teacher groups, so the interface refers to them as groups.

Creating a Class

Type a name in the Enter group name... field and click Create group. Names can be up to 100 characters. Each class card shows its student count and subject count.

Opening a Class

Click a class card (or its edit icon) to open the editor. The editor has tabs for Students, Learning Outcomes, Subjects, Share, and Export.

Renaming a Class

Click the class name at the top of the editor to turn it into an editable field, type the new name, and press Enter (or click away) to save. Press Escape to cancel.

Subjects

Open the Subjects tab to choose which subjects apply to the class. Subjects are toggled on or off from a checkbox grid of the available subjects. The chosen subjects define what can be used for filtering, Learning Outcomes, assessments, activities, and teacher subject access — and control which subjects can be granted to organization teachers on the Teachers page.

When a class has two or more subjects, a Reassign subject control lets you move all student records from one subject to another instead of deleting and re-adding. Removing a subject also removes it from every teacher's subject access for that class.

Learning Outcomes

The Learning Outcomes tab shows outcomes assigned to the class. Organization admins manage the shared outcome library from the Learning Outcomes page in the org navigation, then assign teacher goals, school curriculum, and national curriculum to classes and subjects. A subject can have one active outcome of each type, and active outcomes are used automatically by Lesson planner, Assessment generator, Test grader, and activity notes.

Add Students

On the Students tab, type a student name and click Add student. Students are listed alphabetically. Names can be up to 100 characters.

Delete Students

Click the delete icon next to a student and confirm. This permanently removes the student and their whole history, including assessments, activity results, grades, and progress records.

Deleting a Class

Click the delete icon on a class card and confirm. This permanently removes the class and all of its students and data.

Assigning Teachers to Classes

Teacher-to-class assignment is managed on the Teachers page, not here. On the Classes page you manage class content; on the Teachers page you control teacher access.
